How is weighted CGPA calculated?
Weighted CGPA is the sum of each grade point multiplied by its course credits, divided by the total included credits. A higher-credit course therefore has more influence than a lower-credit course.
CGPA = Σ (grade point × credit hours) ÷ Σ credit hours
The selected scale only sets the valid maximum grade point. It does not convert grades between different institutional systems.
Worked CGPA calculation example
On a 4.0 scale, three courses with different credit values produce this weighted calculation:

Can CGPA be converted directly to a percentage?

Can I use decimal credit hours?
Yes. Positive decimal credit values are accepted for institutions that use fractional credits.
